From the Desk of BTG —
Morning Folks,
For those of you that are new here, I’ve committed to writing monthly updates on the newsletter. These will give you an inside look on what is working, what’s not working, and anything else I think is relevant. Half of this post will be for paid subscribers only. The goal here is to give you a look under the hood and keep you apprised of projects I’m working on as we grow this community.

Introduction
I started this newsletter on May 28th, 2025. The first post was How to Dress When Playing Golf, and it was sent to 0 readers. As of writing this, we are a small but mighty readership of 1,368 golfers committed to upholding and respecting the traditions of the game. This has been 100% organic growth through my twitter account and referrals. Cool to see. Thank you all for reading.
Writing this newsletter has been a great exercise in flushing out my current thoughts on the game of golf and how I see our community impacting the future trajectory of the sport. It just so happens that many other people also share my views, which is reassuring given the current landscape of golf media. I also enjoy the fact that you all have similar beliefs so I am not talking to just myself on the internet every day.
Anyway, we must continue to set the right example by dressing, acting, and playing the right way on the golf course. If you’re new here and want to get up to speed, here are the articles I’d recommend you read now:
These posts lay the foundation for who I am and what I believe the game of golf should be. Some upcoming posts will include topics like:
Pace of Play (Friday)
My Experience Playing the Old Course
How to Buy Your First Set of Golf Clubs
A Superintendent Guest Post (If you know a guy who’d be open to this, lmk)
Tips for New Country Club Members
And much more
Asks
If you like the newsletter, all I ask is that you mention it to your friends/golf team/Dad etc. You don’t even have to send them a signup link, just mention it or forward them an email that you like/ learned something from. It goes a long way.
Keep emailing me with questions/comments/ideas. I enjoy talking to the readership.
Now onto the data and whats next….
