Cold Open
The time has come. One day I woke up and looked in the mirror. I’m older, wiser, and more mature than I was the night before. I felt it in my bones - a little stiffer, sure - a sign of growth.
The thought of the bygone years passing and compressing into one another like waves crashing on the beach flickers through my mind. I think about how much I now savor each round of golf, each stroll in the sunshine, and each long day of summer. I drink it all in with a greater sense of perspective on the transitory nature of beautiful moments.
On one of these summer walks not too long ago, I stopped to smell the air, and realized that T shirts no longer appeal to me, and I only want to wear sneakers on long runs or to the gym. The time for child’s play is over. It’s time to grow up, and grow into what’s next.
The BTG Rebrand
Good morning and welcome back,
Getting right to it: I am rebranding the newsletter - it will now be called The Tuxedo Collective. Nothing else will change. The content, my twitter, and everything else will stay exactly the same. I’m simply changing the name of the newsletter.
Why?
Well, to start from the beginning, the original inspiration for my internet persona was an account called BowTiedBull, who’s account has actually spawned many other “BowTied” brands. (A quick twitter search will yield many accounts, who happen to run businesses and are experts in their fields) In my mind, anyone who has adopted the BowTied moniker, grown a following, and committed to writing on the internet is likely an expert in their field, and worth a follow. (For those of you in sales, I’d highly recommend checking out BowTiedSalesGuy)
Anyway, I’ve followed BTB for years, and decided to start this account as I had not seen anyone in the BT network properly cover the game of golf. And so my twitter persona was born.
After putting my thoughts on the game of golf, current attire, and everything in between on the internet and in this publication, I’ve been pleased with the growth we’ve experienced thus far. The feedback, engagement, and shared sentiment among our readership has encouraged me to continue putting as much effort into these posts and the brand as I possibly can. I’m hungry for more.
That get’s us to what’s next. The Tuxedo Collective will almost exclusively discuss golf. I have a ton of great topics queued up for posts; it’s what I know, and it’s what you all signed on to read.
The brand evolution allows me to separate this publication from the BowTied community on Twitter. That’s all. The following emails will be from: BTG @ The Tuxedo Collective, or something of that nature.
The way I see it, the tuxedo is a more complete form of the bowtie. It is classy, timeless, and formal. It carries an elegant and sophisticated aura wherever it is worn, and when worn correctly, it’s wearer becomes a distinguished and aristocratic gentleman.
The tuxedo embodies everything that I want this publication to be moving forward.

3 Things I Know I Know
“BucketListProShopper” is the worst account on Instagram. Glorifying status-signaling materialism won’t fly here.
Stick to buying 1 item at a pro shop. Act like you’ve been in the position before, even if you haven’t.
I only played with 2 Country Club Sticks this summer which is unfortunate. But, I have to post one of their bags here again. It remains a work of art. Shoutout Park.

Dropping new brand images below. I’ve created two initial pieces of merch, you can get them here.

Working on a members logo as well a-la PV and Cypress…
The Invite List
Bookending this post with more tuxedo content…
So you’ve been invited to a black-tie wedding? Make sure you have a proper self-tie bowtie. None of this clip-on nonsense. Bowties (and tuxedos) look much better when they are not 100% perfect. A little lopsidedness in a tie shows that the person wearing it actually tied it themselves. Trust me, be the guy who ties his own bowtie. There are hundreds of tutorials on youtube where you can learn how to do it in 2 minutes.
Thanks for reading, talk soon.
